Morning Harvest
Here is my harvest of tomatoes this morning. I'm having to pick them a bit green because there are two squirrels and a chipmunk in the area that are running off with them. As long as I don't put them in the refrigerator, they are still tasty. Wish the tomatoes and the armenian cucumbers would harvest at the same time but that doesn't seem to happen for me.

Black Eyed Susan
Yesterday was the Preakness horse race and unfortunately Animal Kingdom did not win so that we could be on our way to a triple crown. Something that has not been done in 30+ years. The Black Eyed Susan is the flower that is used at the Preakness.
My Black Eyed Susan(s) have just started to bloom. They seem to spread by themselves because I have them everywhere in the area where I first scattered seed.
There are so many bud and blooms in this one area. These came up by themselves in a whiskey barrel where I also have a Jasmine vine planted but it doesn't seem to do very well.
It's getting warm in Arizona and most blooms will be gone once we have consecutive days of 100 degree heat save for the Lantana, Pomegranates, Sunflowers, and probably some others the names of which I do not know.

Quail Visiting
I spotted this pair of quail in my back yard this afternoon and was surprised that they were fluffing in the dirt. I haven't seen any of them do this in the yard before. They've come to eat but that is about it. They leave as fast as they come. But, this time they stayed for quite awhile.
This was so funny to watch. I have a mirror on this chair by the wall. They found it and saw themselves and were just carrying on like a flock of quail do. They were so infatuated with this mirror. It took them awhile to decide to leave. I bet they'll be back. The one on the right is the male and the one on the left is the female.

What do you have visiting in your yard?
