Colts

On the road I take to go to work there are a lot of horse properties and in particular there is this one I believe is called Silver Spur.  Anyway, I think they are a cutting horse outfit and in the spring they have baby colts that they put out in the large pens that face the street.  I've been waiting for these colts and I've only seen one and then a day or two ago I saw three.  Today, Saturday, I made a special trip up there with my good camera in hand hoping that the colts would be in the  pens and two of them were.  Here are my findings.

This palomino mare has the nicest head.  This little lineback buckskin colt was asleep and I waited until he got up.  Actually, another car pulled up and they had two bags of carrots.  I think they've been feeding them for some time cause they raced to the fence.

I think it was lunchtime.  He had been sleeping previously.

He thought I had something to give him but I didn't.  But, he is just so cute.

This is the other colt.  I never could see whether it was a horse colt or a philly.  This colt might be a little older than the other one.  But, they are just so precious.  I couldn't get a picture of him & his mother together.

He looks like the one who is always into mischief.  Don't you think?

Seeing these colts made my day a bit brighter and I hope that they will make your day a bit brighter as well.
