I have been on the downside lately and here's why.
My mom died eight years ago after having colon surgery for colon cancer. A couple of weeks ago I had the scare of my life. I had an episode of diarrhea with rectal bleeding. Self told me it was time for that dreaded colonoscopy. I found a very nice gastroenterologist and today, 3/14/11, I had a colonoscopy. She told me that there were no polyps and there were no lesions. She could not explain the bleeding but said nothing was cancerous. I woke up after the procedure crying. They kept asking me why was I crying & I couldn't tell them why. Then they asked if I had psychiatric problems...I told them no....maybe I should rethink that! Anyway, I am home recuperating. Joni said I didn't have to come to work til Thurs.
So, if U haven't gotten UR colonoscopy, I highly recommend that U do so. Need a recommendation of a GI doc, call me. Need a driver to bring U home? Call me. I'd be glad to.

Good for you. I can understand why you woke up crying. Bless your heart. Getting that test done ain't no piece of cake - it's a pain in the butt! I just had to say that. I've had a couple of them. It is past time for another one.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a pain in the butt but actually not as bad as I had thought all along. The needle for the IV is the worst for me. I hope U get URs soon.

It certainly is understandable why you would be crying and upset. Very natural, not a psychiatric problem. Duh-doctors. Glad to hear that everything was okay.

Understandably you were upset.. We often think the worse before thinking anything less. I'm glad they found nothing and that you were checked out.. Have a wonderful week. Thinking about you here in NJ.
ReplyDeleteI am glad all is well.. I have had a few and think the prep is the worst part but just think about if you did not have the test done and there actually was a problem????? Was it docs that could not understand why you were crying?? Did anyone ever stop to think maybe it was the anesthesia that you was having a reaction too?? dorks!! I miss you, I hope to see you soon.... :")
