This palomino mare has the nicest head. This little lineback buckskin colt was asleep and I waited until he got up. Actually, another car pulled up and they had two bags of carrots. I think they've been feeding them for some time cause they raced to the fence.
I think it was lunchtime. He had been sleeping previously.
This is the other colt. I never could see whether it was a horse colt or a philly. This colt might be a little older than the other one. But, they are just so precious. I couldn't get a picture of him & his mother together.
He looks like the one who is always into mischief. Don't you think?
Seeing these colts made my day a bit brighter and I hope that they will make your day a bit brighter as well.
Oh how precious. When I lived in Oregon I use to pass some horse property and always loved seeing all the colts. Great pictures. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Joani Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteHow precious these photos are. I love seeing the colts they are so sweet. Then you even got one nursing. Now that is just priceless.
Next time you will know to take a bag of carrots or two? We learn quickly, and you know I am sure some places wouldn't want you to even try. Ya never know.
Thank you for sharing sweet friend. So beautiful. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
so beautiful Joani I love seeing baby animals with their mothers

Living my first 46 years of life in Texas and having horses and now living in Louisville Ky home of the derby where there are horse farms every where I gotta say... this was my kind of post! those little fella are ah-dor-able!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly did brighten my day Thanks!
These are great photos, and put these colts right there for us to appreciate. I don't see too many horses out here, even though we are rural and open and with lots of land for horses. I guess it's just too wet for them.
ReplyDeleteThey are cuties for sure! I love when they are at that stage and they are all legs! Great photos...thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I wish I knew horses like you do.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I LOVE anything Southwest! I used to live in New Mexico and miss it very much.
Such beautiful mares and foals! Your header shot looks like one taken out at the Pioneer Woman's ranch. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLori, it is. Haven't been able to get one of my own but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteMichaele,
ReplyDeleteI also lived in New Mexico at one time....Mountaire and Belen. I left in 1984.
