Desert in Bloom


I took a drive to Wickenburg on Friday to visit with my aunt and the desert is blooming in some places.  
I just love these beaver tail cacti.

    Beautiful photos as usual, Joani! Is this cacti the same as a prickly pear? It looks similar, but I'm thinking the prickly pear gets yellow blossoms. Truly, I do not know what I'm talking about most of the time!

    I just can't imagine a cacti blooming...none ever do for me...of course, they are inside up here. So beautiful!
