Oh my, our garden exploded while we were gone. I'll probably do a short post, because we are so excited about our beginning bounty -- a few cherry & pear tomatoes, zucchini & yellow crookneck squash. We were told to use Despri-Sol which breaks up the clay so all your nutrients can then get to your plants. It worked within a few days. All the farmers over in our area use it. Anyway, just an idea! `CAS`
Hi there....thanks for stopping by my blog today. :) I am just getting started on planting my garden...I just have potatoes and peas planted so far. We are a LITTLE farther north than you...we are in North Dakota near the canandian border. Hope you will come back soon!!
Ah, you are a couple of months ahead of us. Perhaps more! We are still getting warning freezes, preventing us from planting anything that needs constant heat, like your vegetables above. I do hope that in the interior, where they are sheltered by our cold winds, they are able to utilize greenhouses and partial coverings to get this food up and going. I'm itching to start though.
p.s. when it is too hot for you, you could make a trip up this way and spend your summers in a cool 70 degree environment. We love summers here, and we grow some things, like berries and lettuces and peas, and beans and a good variety of apples and pears. The rest of the time, we enjoy our beachwalking and sitting on a sunny patio with a Margarita.

Garden? What's that? lol I don't have one but I sure enjoy the reaping part. Looks like you are reaping great rewards from yours!
ReplyDeleteOh those look wonderful. No garden this year, but hopefully we get one going again for next year. I love the fall lettuce, soooooooooo good.
ReplyDeleteThose look amazing! Alas, I have only flowers in my garden. Maybe soon we will have some little citrus Satsumas.
ReplyDeleteI think they are the size of my hand. Yum!
