This was so funny to watch. I have a mirror on this chair by the wall. They found it and saw themselves and were just carrying on like a flock of quail do. They were so infatuated with this mirror. It took them awhile to decide to leave. I bet they'll be back. The one on the right is the male and the one on the left is the female.
What do you have visiting in your yard?

So pretty! They must have been taking a nice dirt bath to impress that other couple they saw!
ReplyDeleteCute! I love birds of all kinds and they are so fun to watch. I've been watching the goldfinches and sparrows fighting over the finch feeder. For some reason, the sparrows have decided that they love finch seed too. And then once in a while I'll see the groundhog running across the yard. I'm sure the deer will make their appearance soon, since the lettuce in the garden is coming up nicely. :D
ReplyDeletei bet your going to be a grandma of quails lol
ReplyDeletebut they are so beautiful dont think ive ever seen one so close
Thanks Donna.....they were here again this afternoon when I came from work. I couldn't believe it. I'll put some seed out for them tomorrow....I'm off of work. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteDirt baths are the rage around here. The birds do it all the time. Must work like powder on humans. Have a great day!

That was funny! we have all kinds of birds in our yard...right now the hooded orioles are back and I am fascinated by them because of their bright yellow color and the fact that they prefer hummingbird nectar...they have their own feeder now.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanie Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteI simply adore this share. How precious it must have been to watch them talk back and forth to the ones in the mirror. I would have loved to have listened to them.
Living here in Phoenix, we don't see any quail where I live, but if I drive out to Sun City, I see them running all over the place. A dirt bath hu? Well they won't be seeing much wet around here. Sure was cloudy today but not a drop fell around my house.
Thank you for sharing with me sweet one. If you make it to the valley, I hope you will let me know. I would love to meet you for lunch one day. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Oh My Goodness those are the cutest birds ever!! I can't believe they got down in the dirt like that and loved the mirror!! I bet it was hard to stop watching them!!
ReplyDeleteI love watching my chickens dust themselves, any bird that does it is sooo funny to watch. The positions they contort themselves in! I hope they come back so you can continue to enjoy watching them.
ReplyDeleteSo cute...
